ALISS Visit to London Library

ALISS (Association of Librarians and Information professionals in the Social Sciences). are pleased to announce an opportunity to visit the London Library and see behind the scenes! Founded by Thomas Carlyle in 1841, the London Library is now the largest independent lending library in the world. It is located in St James Square near Piccadilly <http://webpac.londonlibrary.co.uk/services/services.htm>
Its subject range is broad and eclectic: there are extensive collections in Biography and History and long periodical runs.
The trip will include the chance to learn more about the collections and services offered by the Library and an opportunity to meet some of its staff members.
The visit will last approximately 1.5 hours
