Assistant Librarian, Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester

The Royal Agricultural College is a leading university college situated on a beautiful campus in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Applications are invited for the key post of Assistant Librarian to join a small but dedicated team of existing staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for: enhancing and developing the library's Library Management System (OLIB); its print and electronic journals collection; liaison with one of the College's academic departments.
Candidates will have a recognised qualification in library/information management, and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the operation of an LMS and of journals management. Ideally candidates will have prior experience of working at a similar level in an academic library, but new or recent graduates should not be discouraged from applying. The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop the Assistant Librarian role and extend your range of skills and competencies. To be the right person for the job you will need to be unafraid of change, confident enough to take initiative and make informed decisions and secure in your knowledge of core librarianship skills as well as relevant IT and software packages (specialist training will be available to the right candidate according to need).
This is a full time, permanent position. Core hours are 9-5, but there will be regular one-evening-per-week duties (currently until 8pm) plus occasional weekends. Salary on the APT&C Scale Pt 17, £17,977 per annum.
