Dear colleagues
I am reviewing the security of our DVDs as part of a project to get our
off-air recordings onto DVD. We currently have a mixture in our site
libraries of keeper cases and keeping discs behind the issue desk, but the
large increase in discs caused by putting off-air recordings onto DVD may
make these approaches impractical. I know this has been discussed before,
but I'd like to get some up to date feedback from anyone who has DVDs about
their security options, and whether they are working out or not! I am
wondering if untriggered off-air recordings on non-rewriteable discs really
get stolen often enough to be a problem, and if triggers work, which ones.
As an aside, I would like to hear from anyone who prints the discs rather
than using labels too, as I have been advised against using labels on the
DVDs.
Any insights would be gratefully received.
With thanks
Claire
