Are there any libraries out there who are currently using 3M security
gates which either cause the library doors to lock when a borrower
attempts to remove a book which has not been properly issued to them, or
where a mechanical swinging arm which is attached to the 3M barrier locks
to prevent the borrower exiting? If so, could you please let me know as
we have had a query about the system in use in our library and would like
to know how common this practice is in libraries and also how long the
door or barrier locks for. Also, if there have been any problems or
issues relating to this, we should be grateful for any information or
advice relating to this.
Many thanks
