Information Assistant (temporary contract, 35 hours per week)
Infocentre,
IPC Media
Starting date: Immediate.
The Infocentre at IPC Media, London SE1 is looking for a temporary
information assistant professional or just starting out - to assist the
existing staff with the day-to-day duties of the in-house library.
The main duties will include a high proportion of cutting and archiving of
IPC Media magazines and maintaining the newspaper archive. Once the
cuttings service is at a more manageable level the tasks will also include
a daily presence on the main enquiry desk, which will involve using online
services such as Lexis Nexis, the electoral roll,
agent listings and use on a periodical directory, as well as using the
Infocentre archive.
The Infocentre is looking for a good team player, who has previously
worked in a media library or someone who is looking to gain experience in
this particular environment. Ideally, the ideal candidate will hold a
professional qualification in the information/library field but this is
not essential.
Initially, the contract will run for six months with the possibility of an
extension and the rate is £10 p/hr, 35 hours a week.
