Subject Consultant (Greek language, literature and area studies)
ACADEMIC-RELATED GRADE 2 (20%FTE)
Salary Scale: £22,507-£29,128 p. a. pro rata (20FTE% = £4,501.40-£5,825.60)
We are seeking a Subject Consultant to join a small hardworking team of
staff in a busy but friendly Library. Normal working hours are 7.5 hours per
week. The role will involve collection development and stock management of
the research and teaching collections in Greek language, literature and area
studies for the Bodleian Library and Taylor Institution Library.
Good communication skills and enthusiasm for working with library users are
essential, along with an excellent knowledge of Modern Greek language and
culture to manage the OULS library provision in Modern Greek language,
literature and area studies.
Applicants should have a professional qualification in librarianship/
information science, or academic library experience in an appropriate field
and a good general education, with a degree (or equivalent) in Greek
language and literature or area studies. Ideally applicants should also have
experience of electronic resources in the subject field of Greek language,
literature and area studies and creation of web pages to promote services or
must be willing to develop these skills. Knowledge of additional European
languages would be an advantage.
