The main thing is to do away with drawing pins and invest in a staple
gun. This immediately adds a look a professionalism!
I also suggest attending a display workshop. There are a few around but
I don't know all the names. I have heard that Lynne Barnett is good
(but have no contact details). I recommend the Alternative Display
Company, who I first came across at the Library + Information Show and
are very popular with libraries for INSET:
The Alternative Display Co Ltd, 91 Bristol Road, Edgbaston, BIRMINGHAM
B5 7TU. Tel: 0121 440 2569
The Australian School Library Association has a list of handy hits at:

Some good ideas if you ignore the bits aimed at kids!
Hope this helps

Subject: Displays / Notice Boards
Hello,
Has anyone any practical advice on how to go about making more of
library notice boards?
We have quite a few in our LRC to 'dress' up. We are thinking of having
different themes on each of them and changing them termly but tips on
how to make them striking etc would be really beneficial.
Any ideas would be much appreciated - recommended books, good websites,
experience etc.
Thanks loads in advance
