Hello there,
The ERA licence only covers radio and TV channels run by their signatories
(which you list below), but you can record and use anything that is
available free to air in the UK and is not encrypted or subject to a
licensing scheme, which has nothing to do with the ERA. The educational
defences and exceptions in the 1988 CDPA mean that you can certainly record
and use absolutely anything on Freeview for instance, but you canšt record
SKY for example without a licence as it isnšt freely accessible, but is a
subscription service subject to a licensing scheme.
