GOING GLOBAL - HOW SMALLER PUBLISHERS CAN OPERATE INTERNATIONALLY
22 September (full day)
This seminar will be of particular interest to management in small and medium size publishers, as well as their specialist sales and marketing staff. It will also appeal to those responsible for the editorial content of journals and books, and how this can be tailored for a global audience.
For most publishers, whether large or small, to survive long term their publications need to be sold and marketed to a global audience. However, for some smaller publishers and learned societies, the practicalities of doing so can be daunting. Dealing with more complex and unfamiliar global markets can be a real challenge. This seminar aims to give practical advice on how to increase your global reach, including how to deal with agents and local reps if appropriate. It includes a business update on emerging trends in some of the key regions in the world and also provides an insight into how larger publishers handle their own marketing to suit specific markets. It demonstrates in a practical way how a greater global reach can be achieved with limited resources.
