LIBRARY ASSISTANTS
£14,094 - £16,087 p.a. inc. LW
12 months fixed-term
We are seeking two punctual, accurate and methodical individuals to join a
small team of staff and assist in the day-to-day operation of the ISA
library provision located at 35 Tavistock Square.
You will undertake a variety of duties to ensure the smooth and effective
running of the Institute Library and its reader services, including:
registering new readers; issuing, returning and renewing books; checking
stock; and dealing with user enquiries. In addition, you will assist in
the production and circulation of the monthly library newsletter, the
maintenance of the Institute’s video library collections and other general
routine duties related to the library function.
Basic numeric skills, knowledge of word processing and the ability to work
as part of a small team are essential requirements. Previous library
experience, including dealing with simple reference enquiries and the use
of automated library systems, is highly desirable, as is knowledge of a
Romance language, particularly Spanish and/or Portuguese. An interest in
the aims and objectives of a higher education organisation would be
advantageous.
