The JISC's Technical Advisory Service for Images (TASI) offers a wide
range of practical training courses related to digitisation and
digital image use.
The following courses are being run during August (all in Bristol):
- Colour Management, Thursday 4th August (bookings close shortly)
A practical introduction to the tricky area of colour management.
This workshop looks at how to calibrate equipment and use the
standard ICC colour profiles effectively.
- Advanced Photoshop Techniques, Friday 5th August (limited places)
Suitable for those with a good working knowledge of Photoshop. This
workshop introduces advanced image optimisation techniques, including
filters, adjustment layers, and paths.
- Building a Departmental Collection, Thursday 11th August
This workshop takes participants through some of the key steps
involved in establishing a collection of images for their department.
It deals with issues of image creation, selection, cataloguing, and
delivery to users.
- Image Capture for Beginners, 12th August 2005
For those new to capturing digital images. Provides an introduction
to the use of scanners and digital cameras, and to issues such as
file format and resolution.
