here at NEWI we are considering acquiring a Document Management or Document Repository system as part of our IT infastructure, whilst I am aware of various approaches to this, including use of Library Management system features or 'Enterprise' level systems such as Domino, I was wondering if any list members could let me know how they have done this in their respective institutions.
Just to clarify, Document Management Systems should deal with documents as resources for cataloguing and retreival, rather than knowlegde repositories which usually store less structured information, such as facts, nor Content Management systems which provide greater Web authoring features and usually fewer features to manage the cataloguing and retrieval of documents.
Hope this makes sense! If anyone could let me know the system they use either on or off-list I'd be very grateful.
