Fixed-term to 31 July 2006.
Salary £19,050-£22,815 pa
Closing Date 25/7/05
Job Reference N364
Building on Lancaster's reputation for research and innovation in e-learning, this one-year, HEFCE-funded, project will address the institutional aim of providing a standard of e-learning opportunities that match or exceed our students' expectations. It will support all teaching staff to do more with e-learning so that all courses reach a basic level of blended learning and those courses already at this level are encouraged to extend their scope. In addition the project will facilitate a change of staff attitudes to e-learning so that it is integrated with all aspects of course design, teaching and assessment.
The core role of this e-Learning Resources post will be to enhance the availability of electronic content in support of e-learning, by providing primary linking to the Library's electronic resources through its catalogue, secondary interlinking through SFX and associated gateways, and to work with Library and e-Learning Project staff to increase the availability and accessibility of e-resources for use in course modules.
Applicants should have a degree or postgraduate qualification in librarianship or information science plus strong IT skills, some cataloguing experience and familiarity with the management of electronic journals and databases. Training will be provided, but familiarity with one or more of the following will be a significant advantage: Virtual Learning Environments, electronic licensing entitlements and restrictions, ATHENS authentication.
