If you're interested in this discussion - and a recent similar strand on
lis-informationliteracy - you may be interested in several recent
articles by Andrew Shenton and Pat Dixon in "Education Libraries
Journal" and "The School Librarian". They look at children's
understanding of "information" and the kinds of "project" set by
teachers.
If you're researching in that field, I'd be very keen to publish further
material in "Education Libraries Journal".
