Due to a number of interesting developments at The College of Law, we're
now looking for someone with a lively, positive appoach to work with us
for a year.
The College is a forward thinking, dynamic and growing organisation and a
leading provider of post-graduate legal education. With branches
throughout the country, this post is to manage information services for
the two largest branch libraries.
Information Services Manager, up to £35,000 pa pro rata
Fixed term for one year
London or Guildford
Your main role will be to lead the management of Guildford and London
branch libraries, but we’re also looking for someone keen to gain
experience and contribute to strategy. You’ll be a member of the senior
management team developing policy, providing vision and participating in
innovative projects.
Day-to-day activities will include leadership of the Information Officers
who operationally manage the libraries, liaison with the Branch Executive
Boards in delivery of the service, teaching and training of staff and
students, stock and budget management.
Applicants must be qualified with at least 3 years experience running a
library or information service. You will be expected to spend time at
each branch and regular (paid) travel will be essential.
Benefits include 28 days annual leave, 35 hours per week, training and
development opportunities.
The appointment is initially for one year. This is an exciting time for
LIS at The College of Law – new facilities opening next year, we have just
signed a contract to implement the Voyager library system from Endeavor
Information Systems Inc, and one of our Information Managers has emigrated
to Australia! Hence we feel it appropriate to review roles and activities
in the short term.
