UNIVERSITY OF LONDON RESEARCH LIBRARY SERVICES
SENATE HOUSE LIBRARY
We have the following vacancies:
Cataloguer Required for Britain in Print Project
(Fixed-term post for 15 months)
The Britain in Print Project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and
is being led by the University of Edinburgh on behalf of CURL, the
Consortium of University Research Libraries.
As part of this project, we have a vacancy for a fixed-term cataloguer to
be based initially in Senate House Library, University of London, but the
role will also include periods of secondment to University College London
Library and University of Southampton Library.
You will work as part of a team based across several UK sites, enabling
broader access to pre-1700 books, for the benefit of the academic
community, special interest groups and the public at large.
Ideally, you should have at least two years descriptive cataloguing
experience and practical knowledge of rare book cataloguing standards. As
the project is time limited and each library involved in the project has a
pre-defined number of records, all cataloguers will be required to work to
strict targets, so experience of working to targets would be an advantage.
For more information about the project, please Norman Rodger, Britain in
Print Project Manager on 0131 650 6823 or visit the project website at
www.britaininprint.net.
