Webmaster/Publishing Opportunity
The e-journal Information for Social Change (ISC) is seeking a webmaster. Full training will be provided, though some basic IT and web page skills are required. There will also be opportunities to become a member of the Editorial Board and to write for the journal. The journal is published twice a year, summer and winter, with approximately 12 articles and book reviews per issue. Published articles are usually in the range of 1000–5000 words.
ISC challenges the dominant paradigms of library and information work. ISC is an organisation in liaison with the Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals (CILIP) for the UK, but it is a non-funded organisation. Thus, this post, like all ISC positions, is self-resourced and honorary. You can see the journal at: http://libr.org/ISC
Information for Social Change is co-edited by John Pateman (Head of Libraries, Sport & Support Services, Lincolnshire County Council) and Ruth Rikowski (London South Bank University & Commissioning Editor for Chandos Publishing). John Pateman’s latest book is Developing a Needs Based Library Service (NIACE, 2003). For further information on this book, see: http://www.niace.org.uk/Publications/D/DevLibrary.htm
Ruth Rikowski’s latest book is Globalisation, Libraries and Information: The Implications of the World Trade Organisation’s GATS and TRIPS Agreements (2005, Chandos Publishing). For more information about this book see the April and July 2005 issues of Managing Information which is the monthly magazine for ASLIB, and also see: http://www.chandospublishing.com/catalogue/record_detail.php?recordID=35
Ruth Rikowski was also the Book Reviews Editor for Managing Information from 2001-2004.
