Dear Colleagues,
Inspire has today has launched its updated website at inspire.gov.uk
The purpose of the Inspire programme is to create a seamless pathway to
support learning and access to information for all, across libraries
from all sectors and in doing so, to provide the infrastructure to
enable the achievement of key aspects of the DCMS public library
strategy Framework for the Future. Although Inspire is funded to work
with Public, HE and National libraries, we are very keen to encourage
any library that wishes to become involved to do so.
The website will be of interest primarily to library staff- whether they
are already involved in Inspire or not, but will also be of interest to
learning providers and other professionals in the wider museum, library
and archive domains.
It provides information on the aims of Inspire; its partners and
supporters; offers documentation which can be downloaded for onward use
and also has a page for each for the regions in England giving news,
identifying contacts and progress and listing libraries already signed
up with Inspire in each area.
In the last six months, Inspire has developed links with Wales,
Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland and they have provided us with
the latest information on the co-operative work between libraries which
is featured in pages dedicated to each of these countries.
If you have any queries about Inspire or feedback on the website, please
contact me.
Regards
