Information Services
The Academic Liaison team forms the key link between Information Services (converged Library, IT, Web, TV, MIS, Media, Careers services) and the academic Schools, providing proactive communication between our customers and our service managers. In addition the ALOs provide customer education and training, support for research, develop learning materials strategies, assist with course validations and inspections and undertake service development projects, in particular promoting electronic resources and developing the use of WebCT.
Academic Liaison Manager
£28,558 to £30,516 pa inc
As Academic Liaison Manager you will be responsible for the strategic line management of your team, ensuring a consistent, responsive and evolving service for our customers. You will ensure that we provide an exemplary and comprehensive subject specialist service to Schools and will encourage and monitor partnership working with academics on all aspects of services provided within Information Services. You will also ensure the effective spending of the Learning Materials Fund and other budgets currently totalling over £540,000.
You will be a team player with the ability to divide your time effectively between management tasks and your role as the Academic Liaison contact within part of a school.

Academic Liaison Officers
£23,352 to £27,222 pa inc (Full-time figures)
1 x FT permanent (Can be worked as a job share)
1 x PT temporary (Minimum 14 hours per week)
We are looking for two Academic Liaison Officers to be the key link between Information Services and the five Schools in the University. Working closely with academic staff, you will develop appropriate information provision and access to resources, including the writing of WebCT information literacy modules. You will manage the learning materials budget for your subject area and will attend School Boards and other School committees as appropriate.
You will be educated to degree level with appropriate professional qualifications or equivalent experience. It is likely that you will hold a library and/or information management qualification.
