CoFHE will be holding its AGM on Friday July 1st at 2.00 pm in the
Renold building at the University of Manchester. Members may attend this
AGM free of charge but must register as an exhibition visitor (which is
also free) with the Umbrella organisers at CILIP if not attending as a
paying delegate. Papers and the agenda for the AGM will be sent out by
our secretary Helen Ashton.
UMBRELLA 2005
June 30th - July 2nd
University of Manchester
The delegate programme and registration booklets for Umbrella
2005 have now all been distributed to CILIP members. As there is no
CoFHE Conference this year the Committee would like to encourage you all
to attend Umbrella instead and network with colleagues from across all
library sectors. Full details can be found at
http://www.umbrella2005.org.uk
CoFHE and UC&R have collaborated in putting on 6 sessions throughout the
3 days. Our speakers are Peter Brophy on using research to inform
practice, Kate Gardner on managing a shared library, Charles Oppenheim
on e-copyright, Gillian Rowell on plagiarism, Nigel Morgan on developing
effective workshops and Sheila Corrall with a work/life balance
workshop.
In addition there are social events like the Exhibitors party on
Thursday night and the social evening on Friday with a choice of a trip
on a steam engine, a visit to the newly refurbished Manchester City Art
Gallery or a dinner dance at the Palace Hotel. There are day rates if
you can only attend one of the days. All the costs are available from
the website.
The CoFHE Committee hope you will take this opportunity to support
Umbrella and meet up with other CoFHE colleagues and have an enjoyable
time in Manchester. It doesn't always rain here!
If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
