above Allegro Training course in Cardiff?
UWIC are willing to host the training if there is sufficient interest from
colleagues in Wales or the South West.
Here's a reminder of the course content and aims;
MARC21: A Refresher
An advanced guide to MARC21 for cataloguers with some experience of the
format
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course explores more complex areas of MARC21. It is intended for
delegates who have some experience of MARC21.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the day delegates will
a.. have reviewed the basic provisisonsof MARC21
b.. know how to handle serials using MARC21
c.. know how to handle mutli-volume items in MARC21
d.. have considered how to handle translations, multi-media, and audio
materials
e.. have examined how to handle off-air recordings and other electronic
resources using MARC21
A Troubleshooting session is included in the day. Delegates are encouraged
to contribute items for this session.
This course is interactive and learner-centred and is not dependent on any
specific proprietary cataloguing system.
It is recommended that delegates should have attended the MARC21: An
Introduction course offered by Allegro Training, or be familiar with the
basic provisions of MARC21.
