ACADEMIC LIAISON & RESEARCH SUPPORT OFFICER
£18,205 - £20,671 p.a. inc. LW
(fixed-term appointment until 31 July 2006)
We are seeking an organised and effective individual to contribute to the work of subject and information teams, providing support to the academic community in the University, the region, and beyond. This post is particularly suitable for recently qualified librarians or information professionals wishing to develop their career in a research library environment.
You will work as part of a team providing a professional enquiry service to users of Senate House Library's resources and facilities, contributing to the maintenance and development of the Library's website and other resource discovery tools, the selection and evaluation of Internet resources, and the provision of guides to services, databases and collections. In addition, you will assist the work of discipline-based teams with responsibilities for the selection and maintenance of collections in specified subject areas and will assist with project work.
An Arts, Humanities or Social Science graduate (or equivalent by experience or ability), you must possess experience of information services work in an academic or equivalent information environment, combined with good a working knowledge of electronic information resources and allied services. Good all-round communication and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal and team-working abilities, and the ability to negotiate workloads to meet deadlines, are essential requirements. The role does involve some Evening/Saturday duties.
