Dear Colleagues,
The UC&R Wales Group has been trying to negotiate a visit to the Welsh
National Opera Library at the new Wales Millennium Centre, for some time
now.
Tony Burke the Librarian there, has been extremely busy with the move to
the new centre and all the opening pressures that have followed. He is
actually leaving WNO shortly for new pastures so we have been trying to
fit in the visit before he leaves.
The UC&R Wales Committee are meeting at UWIC in Cardiff on Wednesday
afternoon 13th April, and Tony has kindly agreed to talk to us and show
us the WNO library for an hour between 11am and noon.
He is happy for the committee and any other UC&R member to attend. We
will meet at the stage door at 10 55 am prompt.
I should point out that this is a visit to find out about the WNO
library so will not include a full visit to the auditoriums etc in the
new WMC. You can book yourself a guided tour by conteacting the WMC
http://www.wmc.org.uk/index.cfm?method=aboutus.contactus
If you are interested in a full tour.
Could anyone who is interested in attending please ring me on 01443
483391, or e-mail mail me back, saying you are coming, today or tomorrow
at the latest, so I can let Tony know who to expect, for security
reasons.
Many Thanks
