Dear Lis-linkers,
Here at Edge Hill we have traditionally top-sliced a proportion of the
annual bookfund to finance the resourcing of new programmes or individual
modules. Careful monitoring and communication has allowed us to ensure that
these additional sums were taken into account when planning the annual
service budget. However, in recent years, the development of new programmes
has increased rapidly and we have been faced with an ever-increasing
top-slice that is out of proportion with the 'normal' annual bookfund and we
have to exercise constant vigilance to ensure that no proposals slip through
without our being aware of resourcing needs.
Are there any other models of funding new programmes out there that
colleagues can recommend? A new perspective would be greatly appreciated
and I will summarise responses for the benefit of the list.
Kind regards,
Lindsey
