Earlier this month I asked how other libraries were communicating library
related information to academic staff.
I have had a number of replies(including some of the methods currently used
here at Teesside):
Subject Librarians sitting on Faculty Boards/Programme Boards/Academic
Standards Committees
Liaising with Faculty Library Committees/School Library Reps
Subject Librarians forging lnks with School/Faculty
An electronic Researchers Alerting Bulletin 3 times a year
Newsletter/Leaflet
Including information in a general weekly university electronic newsletter
The less formal methods were:
E-mails sent as and when necessary
Information on School intranet sites/Blackboard/information on library
website
Passing on information at other events/courses
There seems to be a consensus that there is no quick fix and everywhere has
problems communicating relevant information to academics and academics
remembering it and passing this on to students.
Thanks for all the replies
