The CILIP University College and Research Group (London Section) have
organised the following visits and still have places to fill:
8 places to fill - London College of Communication (formerly London College
of Printing); University of the Arts, London
The library supports art and design, video, graphic design, photography,
and printing and publishing. Collections include the Printing Historical
Collection, documenting the history and art of the Western book.
4.00 Monday 14th March (maximum 12 people)
1 place to fill - Courtauld Institute of Art
The Courtauld Institute of Art is one of the worlds leading institutes for
teaching and research in the history of art and conservation. The Book
Library collections cover the history of art in the western tradition from
classical antiquity to the present day, including books, exhibition
catalogues, permanent collection catalogues, sales catalogues, rare books
and pamphlets and an increasing collection of material in digital and
online format. The visit will also include the Witt Library of photographs.
2.30 Wednesday 13th April (maximum 8 people)
3 places to fill - Caird Library, National Maritime Museum
The collections cover every aspect of maritime history, the Royal and
Merchant Navy, emigration, navigation, piracy, shipwrecks, biography,
astronomy and horology. It includes magnificent range of rare printed
materials, dating from 1430, including charts, maps and atlases and a
world-class collection of manuscripts, including personal papers and
diaries, official Admiralty and dockyard records, business papers and
lieutenantslogs.
