There is some merit in this. Indeed, we have had visits between
Millennium sites in Scotland and very useful they are too.
It would be useful if the findings of any regional meeting (which are
likely to involve more people) could be documented for the list, or made
available via www.eiug.org.

Like Warwick, we have an interest in both III led and EIUG exchange
of experience workshops. However, especially for the exchange of
experience, would there be any way to hold regional sessions? I would
like to see differing levels of staff attending these but it is
difficult to
justify travelling and/or accommodation expenses. Maybe even a
chatroom approach?

At Warwick we have an interest in both III led courses and EIUG exchange
of experience workshops. Of the former load profiles and advanced
systems admin are of a strong interest. However, one major caveat is
with the trainer that III provide, as this is crucial to the learning
experience. Given the relative expense of training (which is a separate
issue), having an effective and well prepared trainer is essential.
For exchange of experience workshops we are most interested in ERM and
circulation. It seemed very clear that there is a need for the former
following the sessions in Stirling last week.

Dear all,
A number of ideas and suggestions for training events and workshops were
raised at EIUG last week. The committee would like to organise a
programme of events; could we get some feedback on what sessions would
be
most of interest?
The following sessions have been suggested so far:
- ERM exchange of experience (Leeds would be willing to host this,
preferably before xmas)
- Web opac exchange of experience
- Circulation exchange of experience
- Load profiles training session
- Authentication/single sign-on/LDAP - probably a mix of exchange of
experience with some input from III staff on the new developments in
this
area.
- Advanced System Administration training session.
Can you let me know whether you would be interested in some/all of the
above sessions, which are highest priority for you, and whether there
are
any other sessions that would be of interest?
Thanks,
Tracey
