The below Atypon news may be of interest to the listserv readers

Santa Clara, California - November 22, 2005 Atypon, the leading e-publishing technology provider to the information industry and ScholarOne, Inc., the leading provider of Web-based workflow and management solutions for scholarly publishers, are pleased to announce that they are collaborating to provide their mutual customers "Web First" and rapid publication capabilities. Atypon and ScholarOne representatives will be available at London Online, at Atypon's Stand #71, November 29 through December 1, 2005 at the Olympia Grand Hall, London.

Atypon's Literatum software was designed to give publishers maximum flexibility and control of their content, business models, and users. Atypon provides solutions ranging from a cost-effective, simple-to-use content hosting and delivery service to a set of sophisticated tools and custom solutions for hands-on management of online content.

The ScholarOne® Manuscript CentralT peer-review system's publish-before-print capabilities offer publishers the flexibility to export manuscripts directly to online content systems like Literatum or alternatively to export manuscripts for copyedit first. Post copyedit, Manuscript Central also enables author final review and approval before export to the online repository.

For Blackwell Publishing, for instance, the publish-before-print capabilities of Manuscript Central not only help streamline Blackwell processes but also contribute to increased accuracy and quality of their online repository. Adaptable, seamless transition from Manuscript Central to Synergy, Blackwell's online repository, powered by Atypon, is a critical step towards assisting authors to publish their content as quickly and cost effectively as possible.

"Blackwell is committed to the online platform and the importance of delivering information in a timely fashion to our customers. The ScholarOne relationship with Atypon is and has been a key step towards achieving that end," said Philippa Scoones, Web Publishing Director for Blackwell Publishing.

"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with Atypon. They provide an important ingredient to facilitating a complete online solution for publishers," said Bill Carden, ScholarOne president and CEO.

Georgios Papadopoulos, president of Atypon commented, "Publishers are continually looking to improve their workflows to maximize efficiency and deliver superior customer service. The integration between these industry leading products will allow our joint customers to provide better services to their users at lower-costs and support our strategy of supplying a complete publishing solution for our clients."
