Hello everyone
We are currently working on the implementation of the Aditus redesign. Part of those design changes will provide more open access to the Aditus communities.
A couple of weeks ago I sent out a survey for LIHNN members to complete, in order to assess requirements for varying levels of authentication across the LIHNN areas of Aditus. I had quite a good response, with the majority of the groups responding.
Attached is a summary of the findings. The most important section is the end section where I asked you which areas you would like to keep behind authentication.
Anything that got less than 10% of the vote will remain in the public domain; those items with more than10% will remain Athens protected. As you can see from the attachment, this means that all LIHNN general documentation (shown as numbers 8-14) will be in the public domain.
For individual groups, we need to build a 'secure documents' area for you to place your protected documentation. In order that I can begin a transfer of data, can all individual LIHNN group editors and authors check their webpages and list which documents you wish to be moved to a secure documents area. I have attached a template for you to use for this purpose. I'd be grateful if you could get back to me asap, please have your responses in by Wednesday the 2nd March,
Please be aware that any documents NOT in a secure area, will be visible to anyone, i.e. they will NOT be Athens protected. We're looking at a relaunch of the Aditus site round about the 4th March but I will confirm the date once the data has been transferred.
Please also note that due to software constraints, the forums will function as they do now; i.e. they will be visible to all with an Athens password, but they will still need people to subscribe to post. Links to the subscription pages have been improved.
Best wishes
Ingrid Evans
