Hi all,
reading the problems related to sw tags updates, I would say that, since
the OSes are different, the software has to be reinstalled from scratch
(CMS software under RH73 would not work under SLC3 due to the different,
for example, gcc compiler), validated and then published again with new
tags.
Slightly different the case in which the farm still support two distinct
OS. Since, most likely, the experiment software repository is the same,
an NFS mounted shared area, the problem is only to allow incoming jobs
to discriminate between the two sw flavours.
But, again, every piece of software being added has to be validated
since, in general, experiment softwares behave differently according to
different OS.
