Just to be sure that it is a real problem,
the configuration of the crontab done by yaim does not write directly in
the root crontab (by crontab -e) but uses the cron.d directory.
So, in order to show the full list of cronjobs installed at your site
you should use something like.
crontab -l ; cat /etc/cron.d/*

Right now I'm looking at my RB node which was just configured as RB on
SL3.0.3 with Yaim. There are no CRLs in that directory, and there is no
entry in the crontab for the edg-fetch-crls. The same situation is no
the
CE (no crls nor the crontab entry). What have I done wrong?
