I recently came across a tool called rpmrebuild which allows you to
repackage RPMs for which you don't have the source RPM
(http://rpmrebuild.sf.net/). It takes information from the RPM database,
and the installed files on the filesystem. It allows you to edit the RPM
spec file before building so you can change release numbers,
dependencies, etc. Very convenient if you're making changes to
text-based config files and scripts.
