Thanks a lot Maarten, nice debugging. We also spotted this
yesterday late in the evening and we didn't have time to post a followup.
The GPFS limit is indeed 128 bytes.

We already have done that:
[root@ce01 root]# finger biomed001

Directory: /home/b/biomed001 Shell: /bin/bash
