Hi Steve,
Seems to be a connectivity problem. For instance from my desktop pc here at
cern to gftp0440:
[pcitadc17] ~ > /usr/sbin/traceroute gftp0440.gridpp.rl.ac.uk
traceroute to gftp0440.gridpp.rl.ac.uk (130.246.179.1), 30 hops max, 38

while a connection to, eg csf.rl.ac.uk is OK. I suspect the traffic to
gftp0440 is being sent via the light path, where evidently there is a
problem. I'm not sure if all cern traffic is supposed to use that path
(certainly the SC3 traffic does) - I'll try to find out more.
Yours,
David
