I think the closeness in this sense would have to be protocol-specific,
for example both NFS and rfio are "local" in some way but it isn't
necessarily the same way.

We have had some discussion about what the "right" way would be to
publish NFS mounts, but the general conclusion is that if you want it to
be a general solution it's a pain. I think it should be published by the
CE since the critical thing is that something is mounted on the WNs and
the SE admin doesn't control that.
