Ciao Massimo,
now that we are looking into the matter, we do not understand
how you can have experienced the problem you describe.
The /etc/shift.localhosts file is only relevant to the rfiod,
i.e. the SE; on a Classic or Castor SE nothing has changed there,
and also the new DPM SE should recognize /etc/shift.localhosts.
On the WN there are 2 versions of rfio client routines:
/usr/lib/libshift.so provides the old, insecure rfio client,
while /opt/lcg/lib/libdpm.so provides the new, secure version.
The two versions are incompatible, but normally an application
will have an explicit dependency on the one or the other,
so it should load the correct library. (Indeed, one cannot yet
mix DPM with non-DPM access in the same application.)
What is your situation exactly?
