It has never been tried. The porting "should" be easy, since most of the
SW already works on IA64, but I already had problems with VDT/Globus:
it all compiles fine (no warnings beyond those we see on all platforms),
but the resulting OpenSSL libraries do not work, hence GSI does not work,
hence nothing works.
AMD64 is on our to-do list, since the experiments have asked for it, but
I do not see a significant effort happening before mid-summer.
We are focusing on gLite and LCG Service Challenge 3 now.

Yes: you would define distinct (sets of) queues for each type, since a
CE queue must have homogeneous nodes.
