Hi all,
Sorry to restart this thread, but following a configuration problem at a
site, I've noticed that the gstat monitor appears to have already
decided which are valid OS names:
> GlueHostOperatingSystemName: U0wg **NOTE** not found in allowed os
> ['Debian', 'ELC', 'Fedora', 'Fedora 2', 'Scientific', 'ScientificLinux',
> 'Scientific Linux', 'SL', 'SLC', 'Redhat', 'RedHat']
Two things:
1 - What, no RHEL? How are sites with RHEL supposed to classify
themselves, as "Redhat" and "RedHat" will just make people assume they
are still RH7.3?
2 - None of these seem to match the lsb_release -d output, which did
seem to be the most popular suggestion (although not, AFAIK, actually
widely adopted?)
cheers,
Owen.
