I am doing a "from scratch" installation. I have 5 machines with
SLC3.0.3 installed. I have now read all the instructions and release
notes from here:
http://grid-deployment.web.cern.ch/grid-deployment/cgi-bin/index.cgi?var=releases
and
http://grid-deployment.web.cern.ch/grid-deployment/documentation/LCG2-Manual-Install/
however when I get to the stage of doing:
[root@tbce01 lcg2]# /opt/lcg/yaim/scripts/install_node \
/usr/archive/lcg/conf/site-info.def \
lcg-CE-torque
I get the following dependency error:
--------------------------------------
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
lcg-CE-torque: Depends: edg-mkgridmap (>= 2.4.1-1_sl3) but it is not
going to be installed
Depends: edg-mkgridmap-conf (>= 2.4.1-1_sl3) but it is
not going to be installed

it is not going to be installed

--------------------------------------
and it won't install. I have set all my environment variables, and I
have site-info.def available here:
http://grid.physics.ox.ac.uk/drop/site-info.def
Java, APT, and YAIM have all be installed as per the instructions.
LCG_REPOSITORY has been set.
I have also looked in the LCG-ROLLOUT archives to see if others have had
this problem but couldn't find any references to it.
Please can someone suggest what I have done wrong or what can be done to
get around this problem?
Cheers,
Ian
