Hi,
This looks like the problem I saw. I sat down with one of the R-GMA guys
and managed to find the following two problems with my set up:
*** WARNING COMPLETE HACK FOLLOWS, THIS IS NOT AN R-GMA SOLUTION IT JUST
SEEMS TO WORK FOR ME!!!
1) Tomcat wasn't unpacking the R-GMA webapp, if you look in
/var/tomcat4/webapps there should be an R-GMA.war file and a R-GMA
directory. If the directory isn't there the you edit
/opt/edg/var/etc/server.xml.d/insecure-service.xml and change
"unpackWARs" from "false" to "true"
2) Apparently the xerces.jar file is not in tomcats classpath. I
couldn't find a way of changing this without hacking /usr/bin/dtomcat4
or /etc/init.d/tomcat4 which I was reluctant to do. Copying
/usr/share/java/xerces.jar to /var/tomcat4/webapps/R-GMA/WEB-INF/lib
isn't ideal but seems to have worked for me.
You need to stop and start edg-tomcat4 after each on these.
Looking more closely locate webapps gives:
[root@heplnx203 lib]# locate webapps
/var/tomcat4/webapps
/var/tomcat4/webapps/R-GMA.war
/opt/edg/share/webapps
/opt/edg/share/webapps/R-GMA
...
which looks like the webapps area has moved between the releases, and
that may be the root cause of all these problems.
But this seems to have me publishing ServiceStatus and GIN records some
I'm happy for now.
Again this is no offical fix, your mileage may vary.
Yours,
Chris.
