Ět is absolutely possible to install 2.3.1 now i recommand you to wait
a little bit to start by 2.4.0 but the update is not really hard.
If you read and follow the instruction to install 2.3.1 you'll install
it.
We provide an apt repo per release so no conflits are possible between
them.
You'll need to change the apt config file to update.
My recommandation is :
* Wait till tomorow we'll publish the info to install 2_4_0.
> - Find a way around the procedure and install LCG-2.3.1
Why ??? The instruction to install 2_3_1 are still valid and usable.
Follow the instruction from this page :
http://lcg.web.cern.ch/lcg/Sites/releases.html
LCG-2_4_0 test of installation by external site will finish today.
So tomorrow we'll publish the info to install it.
So you'll loose time for the upgrade for 2.3.1 to 2.4.0 if you begin
now.
