Dear All
We have received so many interesting comments from you regarding our
evidence based practice research (see our consultation page) that we are
extending our deadline to Friday September 9th. So if you didn't get
chance to comment first time round (and thanks to those of you who have)
- now's your chance.
The Valuing People Support Team have commissioned us at the Institute
for Health Research, Lancaster University, to do a quick project with
the following aims:
. Phase 1: To find out how people who influence policy and practice
currently use evidence, and what they need from people who produce
evidence.
. Phase 2: To find out what people who produce evidence need to provide
evidence that is useful to evidence users.
. Phase 3: To consult on ideas for bringing together evidence producers
and evidence users effectively.
As someone who produces and provides evidence concerning people with
learning disabilities, we need your views on what helps or hinders you
in producing useful evidence, and how evidence can most effectively be
used to influence policy and practice.
Attached is a short questionnaire; it would help us enormously if you
could spare a little of your time to complete it and return it to us. We
are also more than happy to receive your thoughts in any other format
you like. You can also access the questionnaire via our consultation
webpage; www.ldconsultation.com
We are painfully aware that we don't have the contact details for
everyone producing relevant evidence in the UK, so please forward this
message and questionnaire on to everyone you know who might want to
reply.
We will contact you in the Autumn with a summary of responses, and a
brief set of proposals for further consultation.
Thanks in advance for your help
