Achievements in 2004 included:
* The successful HLG Conference in Belfast, Variety is the Spice of
Life
* HLG's contribution to the CILIP Health Executive Advisory report,
Future proofing the profession
* A series of CPD events, including a well attended session at the
Online Exhibition in December
* Guide to Working in health information, available on the HLG
website
* The Medical Information Working Party became part of HLG, and
renamed themselves, Health Information Working Party
* Input to the Agenda for Change process and to UKCHIP
* Libraries for Nursing produced a new edition of the core
collection for nurses, midwives and health visitors
* Special issue of HILJ in memory of Mona Going
2005 will include:
* HLG input to Umbrella 2005
* A new Committee from April 2005
* The Lesley Morton Memorial activities including a commemorative
issue of HILJ, a Conference and fundraising activities for a bursary
in February
* New revamped HLG website
* Online directory of health Libraries in the UK
* Donation to Partnerships in Health Information to support health
libraries in developing countries
Plans for the future will shortly be unfolded in the HLG Manifesto -
Influence, Inform, and Involve - we look forward to your input!
