Yes you can - just write a letter to the psyche in your CMHT
saying that you are referring to him, but if he wishes to refer
on then that is his responsibility.
Did the LMC let this nonsense go thorugh?

EXCELLENT
LMC should stamp on it.
We had this nonsense with our counsellor - it didn't work GPs giving
out the info, she now sends directly on receipt of our referral.
With smoking we do give them a leaflet - provided for us - which tells
that that the service is _self-referral_.
For PCMHT they should be responding to the patients - giving care
and showing ineterest is often part of the therapy - How they respond is of
course up to them.
