I was with you there until step three. Here, the option given was to apply
the settings to every folder on my computer. Which is not what I want, as,
clearly, the vast majority of my folders do not contain mp3s.
What I could do with is being able to make changes to the one folder (mp3)
and have the option to have those changes also apply to all sub-folders
(*within* the folder 'mp3').
I downloaded tweakui and have increased the number of folders which XP will
remember the settings for. So at least XP should no longer 'forget' the
settings of those folders which I have manually altered. I can't help
feeling, though, that there is a simple way of doing this. Perhaps not.
I have, as you may have gathered, come rather late to using XP in any great
detail. I have used comps with Windows for years, but I've mainly used comps
running RISCOS for all critical work.
