I am not referring to the old RTA fee. The new contract specifically enables
you to charge for performing an examination (not if treatment required
however) recommended by solicitor/insurer.

Subject: Re: RTAs & the new contract - what are you doing?
Have you experienced the aggro of trying to do this?? At my former practice
we once charged the wife of a solictor re this. The problem in this one case
was that we were not the first to exmaine. OK - our mistake, but this is one
hell of a nightmare to administer correctly and just not worth the aggro. I
see the New Contract as one way of getting rid of the work that we should
not be doing. This is clearly A&E stuff and in my view where it should go.
Let them try and charge!
