Anecdote I know, but... always felt I got remarkably few URTI's and minor
infective things considering the load of virus which must pass through the
surgery. Did 6 months commuting to London on the train/tube last year and
was laid low approximately fortnightly. Maybe there is an acquired
resistance to the local flora which is overcome by the truly massive mixing
of populations and enforced re-breathing of London Underground "air" which
reaches alveolar consistency most days.
