Working on the district, I nursed a lady who had a vulvectomy, and some who
had radiotherapy, some had absesses, fissures and surgical wounds.
The only painfree way to wash and dry the area was with a "vulval toilet"
(running cool water/saline over the area and drying off with a hairdryer set
on cool)
I also used this method with a very large lady who had ascites and was
pretty immobile, and have heard new mums who have stitches postnatally
prefer to use a hairdryer than a towel.
Feels quite nice. You should try it.
