I thought that GUM depts did not operate with 'NHS' as their primary
legislation but earlier, 190x legislation, 2 reasons for thinking that I
remember being impressed as a student when told their records where covered
by parlimentary privilage thus to be released to anyone or a court would
require an act of parliment, and also in FH days we were once sent an
invoice for attendences, I queried it and this triggered consternation in
relevent unit, and a small shredding event. I would have thought that if the
establishment recalls why these clinics where established the way they were
(perhaps the BMA would host a small meeting at Cliveden on the matter it
being the appropriate historical setting) they would be minded to continue
the isolation of the records that has served us well for a century and the
social circumstances that caused them to be set up have not changed (and
AFAIK are not likely too either).
