GIS Applications Specialist (part-time 22.5 hours per week)
The Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH), part of the Natural Environment
Research Council (NERC), is the UK’s Centre of Excellence for research in
the terrestrial and freshwater environmental sciences.
We require a keen enthusiastic GIS applications specialist to provide
spatial data analysis for Defra funded research on assessing the risks to
the environment from heavy metal pollution.
You must be numerate with a good working knowledge of Arc/Info and/or
ArcGIS (preferably with experience in the use of “Spatial Analyst”), and
also MS Access and Excel. You will have good communication skills, the
ability to work on your own and as part of a team, and be well organised
with good time management skills.
The salary is £18,030 progressing to £21,150 per annum (pro rata). In
addition NERC offer a pension scheme, 30 days’ annual leave and 10½ days’
public and privilege holiday (pro rata).
